FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball shot just 31.1 percent as the Lions fell to Oklahoma Christian, 65-57, in the regular season finale at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
Forward Kayla Brundidge posted a double-double in her final home game with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Baylee Fincher contributed 17 points off the bench by going 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.
The Lions held a 46-44 lead early in the fourth with the Eagles went on a 9-0 run to take a 53-46 lead. OCU extended the lead to as many as 11 before Fincher hit a pair of late triples.
UAFS had a 14-8 edge in points off turnovers, but the Eagles had a 14-6 advantage in second chance points. The Eagles tallied 28 of their 65 points in the paint while the Lions had just 16.
The Lions struggled from the free throw line, going 8-for-19 while the Eagles were 20-for25. OCU had a 54-32 rebounding advantage, as well.
UAFS will next take on top seed Texas Woman's in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship at 6 p.m. March 8 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
