FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Basketball heads to Western and Eastern New Mexico for the Lions' last road trip of the regular season.
The Lions and Mustangs will take to the court at 8:30 p.m. Thursday followed by the Lions and Greyhounds squaring off a4 4 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: UAFS split a pair of home games, defeating St. Edward's before being defeated by St. Mary's.
BLOCK PARTY: Forward Ryan Maxwell had five blocks in the win over St. Edward's, matching numerous others for the second most in a single game.
RECORD WATCH: Guard Payton Brown is sixth all-time with 1,190 career points, fifth with 161 made threes and fourth with 307 made free throws. Guard Cameron Bush is seventh with 192 assists and fifth with 95 steals.
SCOUTING WNMU: The Mustangs have lost 14 straight games and are 3-20, 1-17 LSC, and are winless at home. WNMU allows a league-high 85.4 points per game and is also last in turnover margin. Guard Cortaviaus Seales paces the Mustangs with 17.1 points per game.
FAMILIAR PLACES: Head Coach Zane Gibson returns to WNMU where he began his head coaching career for three seasons before returning to UAFS in 2023. He posted a 17-11 mark with the Mustangs in 2022-23.
SCOUTING ENMU: The Greyhounds are 9-2 at home and sport a 15-9, 11-7 LSC record. Averaging the second most points in the league at 86.9 points per game, the Greyhounds boast the league's leading scorer in forward Jahcoree Ealy at 21.3 points per game. ENMU also leads the league in assists, three-point percentage and is second in field-goal percentage.
THE SERIES: UAFS leads the series with WNMU, 2-1, but trails 3-0 against ENMU.
