SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball saw its five-game winning streak get snapped Tuesday as the Lions dropped a 71-55 decision at Drury in nonconference action.
Guard Anna Trusty led the Lions with 14 points while guard Morgan Browning added 13 points, five rebounds and two steals. Forward Sofia McNabb chipped in nine points off the bench.
The Lions struggled to shoot the ball, converting just 24.3 percent of their attempts.
UAFS fell behind, 13-1, in the first four minutes but went on 10-0 run over the next two minutes to get back within 13-11. However, the Lions trailed, 39-29, at the break and were unable to get back in the game.
The Lions were outrebounded, 62-35, leading to a 22-8 advantage for the Panthers in second chance points. UAFS had a season-low nine turnovers and forced 22, and outscored Drury, 18-12, in fastbreak points.
UAFS will next play Truman State at 1 p.m. Wednesday on the Drury campus.
