Lions to begin four-game homestand with Midwestern State, Cameron

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball will begin a four-game homestand this week by taking on Midwestern State and Cameron.

The Lions and Mustangs will square off Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with UAFS then taking on the Aggies at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5. Live stats will be available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: The Lions suffered a pair of setbacks at St. Mary's and St. Edward's to reach the halfway point of the conference season.

BEYOND THE ARC: UAFS is third in the LSC in three-point percentage at 33.2 percent in conference only games. The Lions are averaging 6.9 made threes per game in conference games.

RECORD WATCH: Guard Hannah Boyett sits at 888 points in her quest for 1,000. Guard Riley Hayes is fourth with 109 career made threes.

SCOUTING MSU: The Mustangs have lost three in a row and are 4-13, 4-7 LSC on the season. MSU allows the most points in the LSC at 76.1 points per game and is last in team and opponent field goal percentage. Forwards Zarria Carter and Kertisa Amos pace the Mustang offense with 16.5 and 15.6 points per game, respectively.

SCOUTING CU: The Aggies split their games last week and are 6-11, 4-7 LSC entering the weekend. Cameron is last in the league in scoring at 56.0 points per game and last in assists. Three players average double figures, led by guard Katie King at 14.9 points per game. Center Shamica Smith averages 13.7 points and is third in the league in rebounding at 8.9 per contest.

THE SERIES: The Lions are 3-4 all-time against Midwestern State and 3-3 versus Cameron.
