CANYON, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Baseball completed its series at West Texas A&M Sunday, dropping a 16-3 decision at the hands of the Buffaloes.
The Buffs scored the first seven runs of the game before the Lions got on the board in the fifth on an RBI single by infielder Matt Schilling.
However, the Buffs scored nine times over the next two innings to extend the lead, with the Lions scoring twice in the seventh on a WT error for the final tally.
Riley Lowry earned his first start of the season for the Lions, pitching three innings and striking out five.
UAFS returns home next weekend to host Eastern New Mexico Thursday through Saturday at Crowder Field.
