MIDLAND, Texas - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Tennis picked up its first Lone Star Conference win of the season Friday, defeating UT Permian Basin, 4-3.
UAFS won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles for the 1-0 advantage, then picked up singles wins from Anis Ramchane, Juan Rosello and Eduardo Bribiesca at the top three flights.
The day prior, the Lions dropped a hard-fought contest at Western New Mexico, 5-2, with Rosello and Bribiesca scoring the two points for the Lions in singles play.
Next up for the Lions will be a return to nonconference action as they host Southeastern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
