OKLAHOMA CITY – Guard Roland McCoy scored a career-high 32 points Tuesday as University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball fell, 77-69, in Lone Star Conference action at Oklahoma Christian.
McCoy finished 10-for-20 from the floor and 6-for-13 from beyond the arc while also converting six free throws. He added five rebounds, two assists and two steals, as well.
Despite the Eagles starting the game on a 9-0 run, the Lions battled back to take a 20-18 lead midway through the first half on a three by guard Tyler Frederick. Tied at 26-26, the Eagles went on an 8-0 run and led 34-29 at the break.
The Eagles extended the lead to 11 before the Lions got back within four at 56-52, but an 8-0 run by the Eagles put the game out of reach.
Guard Lian Ramiro scored nine points for the Lions while forward Jace Linenberger had a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Lions outscored the Eagles 47-8 in bench points, 11-2 in fast break points and 22-18 in points in the paint.
UAFS returns to action December 30 for its final nonconference game of the season against Dallas Christian at the Stubblefield Center.
