UAFS preps for trips to Midwestern State, Cameron

FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Women's Basketball will begin the first week of a four-game road trip as the Lions will visit Midwestern State and Cameron this weekend.

The Lions are slated to play at Midwestern State Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and at Cameron at 1 p.m. Saturday. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafslions.com.

NOTES:

LAST WEEK: UAFS suffered a pair of home defeats to St. Mary's and St. Edward's.

AROUND THE LEAGUE: Guard Aaliyah Prince ranks eighth in scoring at 14.4 points per game and fourth in field goal percentage at 43.7 percent. Guard Riley Hayes is second in 3-point field goal percentage at 38.5 percent and third in made threes at 2.5 per game.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: This will mark the second four-game road swing for the Lions this season, as they also started the season with four straight road contests.

LET IT FLY: UAFS is third in the LSC shooting 33.7 percent from beyond the arc. This week's opponents, Midwestern State and Cameron, rank last and second to last in opponent 3-point percentage in the LSC.

RECORD WATCH: Guard Hannah Boyett is second with 129 career made threes, trailing only Sydney Franklin's 151 for the top spot. Hayes ranks seventh with 68 made threes.

THE SERIES: The Lions are 2-4 against Midwestern State and 2-3 all-time against Cameron.

SCOUTING MSU: The Mustangs have lost five of their last six games and are 4-13, 2-9 LSC. Guard Natalie Stice leads MSU with 13.5 points per game, while forward Dyamon Griggs is averaging 12.1 points and 6.7 boards. The Mustangs allow the most points in the league at 75.9 points per game and are first in blocks at 4.8 per game.

SCOUTING CU: The Aggies are 5-1 at home on the season and enter the weekend at 8-9, 5-6 LSC. Forward Alena Wilson leads Cameron with 12.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.
