TULSA, Okla. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Tennis had numerous close matches in its 7-0 defeat at NCAA I Oral Roberts Tuesday and will look to take that experience with them the remainder of the season.

Anis Ramchane and Killian Darneaux were tied 5-5 at number three doubles when their match was unfinished, as the Golden Eagles had earned the doubles point with wins at numbers one and two.

At number four singles, Juan Rosello suffered a heartbreaking loss after battling all three sets. He bounced back after a first set loss to win set two but came up just short in the final set, losing in a tiebreaker. Set scores were 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3).

Wian Van Dyk took on reigning Summit League Player of the Year Volodymyr Zakharov at number one and went toe-to-toe with the ORU standout before falling, 6-3, 6-3.

The Lions had close matches at number two with Daniel Borrero before he was defeated, 6-4, 6-1 and at number three, where Ramchane battled but was topped, 6-4, 6-4. Darneaux went to a tiebreak in set one of his match, but fell 7-6 (5), 6-0.

UAFS is next scheduled to begin Lone Star Conference play March 18 at Midwestern State.
