FORT SMITH, Ark. – Cameron University starter Clayton McClenan threw a complete game shutout as the Aggies defeated University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Baseball, 3-0, in the series final Sunday at Crowder Field.
The Aggies broke a scoreless tie in the fifth with two runs and added a third in the top of the seventh.
First baseman Nolan Riley led off the bottom of the fourth with a double for the Lions but was left stranded. The Lions totaled just five hits, four of them singles.
UAFS put two runners on with one out in the ninth to bring the tying run to the plate, but the next two batters were retired to end the game.
Starter Dylan Rollins delivered a quality start on the mound, allowing just two runs over six innings. He allowed five hits and struck out three.
The Lions are back in action April 1-3 at UT Permian Basin.
