Road trip to St. Edward's and St. Mary's up next for Women's Basketball

FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball returns to action this weekend at St. Edward's and St. Mary's after having an unexpected off week last week.

The Lady Lions are set to tip off Thursday at 5:30 p.m. against the Hilltoppers and Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Rattlers. Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network with live stats available at uafortsmithlions.com.

NOTES:

LAST TIME OUT: UAFS last played January 27, winning 84-75 at Oklahoma Christian.

FREE THROW HISTORY: Guard Paige Elston went 13-for-13 at the free throw line in the win at OC, setting new records for most free throws made in a game and most free throws without a miss. The previous record for most in a game was 12 by Tashley Gaines in 2011.

CAREER HIGH FOR STEWART: Guard Nya Stewart was the latest Lions to notch a career-high scoring night this season, scoring 22 points and shooting 4-for-6 in the road win over the Eagles.

SEEING DOUBLE: Forward Mar'Shalia Lollie recorded her fourth straight double-double in the win at OC, scoring 18 points to go with 15 rebounds. During the stretch, Lollie is averaging 16.8 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

OFF THE BENCH: UAFS outscored Oklahoma Christian 41-1 and 32-19 in bench points in its two games two weeks ago.

RECORD WATCH: Forward Mar'Shalia Lollie is tied for the program record with 217 offensive rebounds and ranks seventh with 442 total rebounds. Paige Elston is 10th in steals with 102 and sixth in assists with 165.

POSTPONED: UAFS had its games against Texas A&M-Commerce and UT Tyler postponed last week due to weather. No date has been determined to make up the games.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 15-11 all-time versus St. Edward's and 12-11 against St. Mary's. The teams did not meet last season.

SCOUTING SEU: The Hilltoppers are 11-12, 4-8 LSC after having dropped their last three games. Guard Lauren Catherman leads the Hilltoppers with 12.0 points per game, while center Sammie Dufek leads the league in blocks with 2.6 per game.

SCOUTING STMU: St. Mary's is just 2-19, 1-9 LSC despite having one of the top players in the league in forward Hannah Wilson. Wilson averages a double-double of 15.8 points and 11.7 rebounds, which rank fifth and first in the LSC, respectively. The Rattlers turn the ball over the most in the league at 24.0 per game and are second to last in scoring at 57.4 points per game.
