FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Tennis was defeated, 5-2, in its home opener Saturday against Southwest Baptist at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
The Lions earned the doubles point with wins at numbers one and three, with a close loss at number two. Wian Van Dyk and Ethan Eddleman claimed the 6-4 win at number one, while Anis Ramchane and Killian Darneaux picked up the 6-3 win at number three.
Nicolas Retamales earned the only singles win for the Lions, winning 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 at number five. Anis Ramchane went to a three-set battle at number three, but fell 4-6, 7-5, 2-6.
Next up for the Lions is a trip to Harding University February 26.
