FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball will host its home opener Wednesday as the Lions take on Northeastern State at 5:30 p.m. at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
It will be the first of two home games for the Lions this week, as they will host UA Monticello at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Both games will be streamed on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network and broadcast on Fox Sports Radio FM 103.5. Live stats for both games will be available at uafslions.com.
NOTES:
LAST WEEK: The Lions suffered a pair of road defeats at Southern Nazarene and Henderson State in nonconference action.
HOME OPENER: UAFS is 8-5 in home openers as a member of NCAA II.
FROM DISTANCE: Guard Riley Hayes is shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc this season, ranking eighth in the LSC.
RECORD WATCH: Guard Hannah Boyett ranks third all-time with 104 career made threes.
SCOUTING NSU: The Riverhawks are 2-0 on the season winning both games by more than 15 points. Three players average double figures for NSU, led by guard Ashton Hackler at 18.0 points per game. Forward Courtney Lee averages 16.0 points and 8.5 boards per game.
SCOUTING UAM: The Blossoms are 1-2 after escaping with a victory last week against Delta State. Forward Bailey Harris leads UAM with averages of 14.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES: UAFS is 3-5 all-time against Northeastern State and 6-2 against Monticello, including a 65-54 win last season.
