FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball officially begins the 2022-23 season Friday and Saturday by visiting Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah.

NOTES:
LAST SEASON: UAFS finished the 2021-22 season 7-18, 4-10 LSC while qualifying for the LSC Tournament.
KEY RETURNERS: The Lions return only five from last season in Nya Stewart, Riley Hayes, Hannah Boyett, Dala Allen and Laurissa Campbell. Stewart averaged 7.3 points per game while Hayes started 23 of 25 games last year. Boyett returns after missing last year due to injury.
NEW FACES: UAFS brought in nine recruits for its 2022 class – eight transfers and one freshman. Transfer guard Aaliyah Prince was recently named to the LSC Players to Watch list.
EXHIBITION: Prince posted a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds in the exhibition at Arkansas on 10-of-16 shooting. Hayes and Boyett combined for five made threes while forward Sinetra Jones had 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
SEASON OPENER: UAFS is 8-5 in season openers at the NCAA II level.
RECORD WATCH: Boyett ranks fourth all-time with 99 career made threes.
SCOUTING WC: The Griffins went 17-9, 16-5 RMAC last season. They return three of their top six scorers from a year ago, including leading scorer in guard Ashley Greenwood, who led the Griffins with 17.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES: This is the first ever meeting between the Lions and Griffins.
HEAD COACH: Ryan McAdams enters his second season at the helm of the Lions after posting a 7-18 mark in year one.
