Women's Basketball gears up to face Oklahoma Christian twice this week

FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball will take on Oklahoma Christian twice this week, playing the Eagles at home Tuesday before traveling to Oklahoma City Thursday.

Tipoff for both games is 5:30 p.m. with live streaming available on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network. Live stats can be accessed at uafortsmithlions.com. Tuesday's game will also be broadcast on Fox Sports Radio 103.5.

NOTES:

LAST TIME OUT: UAFS dropped a pair of tight games, falling 62-57 at Texas A&M-Kingsville and 84-81 to Texas A&M International.

4TH QUARTER: The Lady Lions have dominated the fourth quarter in the last three games, outscoring their opponents, 79-41, in those contests.

CRASH THE GLASS: UAFS is fifth in the LSC in offensive rebounds per game with 14.3. Forward Mar'Shalia Lollie averages four offensive boards per game and leads the Lions with 7.5 rebounds per contest.

OVERTIME: UAFS played in back-to-back overtime games last weekend, its first two overtime games of the season. UAFS outscored the Javelinas, 20-10, in the fourth to tie the game and the Dustdevils, 29-14, to tie that consest.

SEEING DOUBLE: Forward Mar'Shalia Lollie posted double-doubles in both games last week, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds against TAMUK and 20 points and 15 rebounds against TAMIU. She now has five double-doubles on the year.

ELSTON'S BIG DAY: Guard Paige Elston set a new career-high Saturday by scoring 33 points on 11-of-23 shooting, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc and 8-for-10 at the free throw line against TAMIU. She also connected on the game-tying three pointer to send the game to overtime.

TWICE IS NICE: UAFS will face Oklahoma Christian twice this week, once at home and once on the road. The home game Tuesday is the rescheduled LSC contest from January 11 while Thursday's matchup in Oklahoma City will be a nonconference matchup.

RECORD WATCH: Forward Mar'Shalia Lollie ranks seventh with 417 career rebounds. Lollie is second with 206 offensive rebounds.

THE SERIES: UAFS is 13-6 all-time against Oklahoma Christian. The teams split the two contests last season.

SCOUTING OC: The Eagles have yet to win a game at 0-12, 0-4 LSC. Guard Brooklin Bain leads the Eagles with 16.8 points per game and is second in the league with 10.4 rebounds per game. Guard Kate Bradley is second on the team at 13.8 points per game. OC allows the most points in the league at 79.6 points per game.
