SAN ANGELO, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Volleyball dropped a three-set match to No. 2 Angelo State University Saturday, falling to the Rambelles, 25-18, 25-17, 25-18.

UAFS allowed a season-high in opponent hitting percentage, as Angelo State hit .349 for the match. UAFS had double the blocks of ASU, with an 8-4 advantage.

Middle blockers Jordan Babcock and Chyra Thompson led the defense at the net, recording five and four blocks, respectively. Along the back row, both Lexy Lewis, Jazzlyn Wells and Chloe Price led the Lady Lions with seven digs apiece.

Babcock also led UAFS offensively, matching right-side hitter Faith Marabella with six kills. Five players had at least five kills. Both Price and Courtney Crownover had a team-high eight assists, while Wells had seven.

UAFS will host its home opener September 24 at 6 p.m. against Dallas Baptist at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
