FORT SMITH, Ark. – Sophomore Petra Csizmadia remained undefeated in singles play, but University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Tennis was defeated 5-2 by Dallas Baptist Friday at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
Csizmadia earned the only singles win on the day for the Lady Lions, winning 6-3, 6-0 at number five to improve to 7-0 on the year.
UAFS had a pair of singles matches go three sets in number one singles with Bianca Koen and Chloe Ruppanner at number three. Koen won set one, 6-1, before dropping sets two and three, 5-7 and 1-6. Ruppanner battled back after dropping set one, 2-6, winning set two, 6-3. However, Ruppanner was beaten 3-6 in set three.
The Lady Lions claimed the doubles point by Koen and Milena Achalamov winning 6-4 at number two and Ruppanner and Camila Romero winning 6-3 at number three.
UAFS will look to bounce back Saturday against Midwestern State at 10 a.m. at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
