FORT SMITH, Ark. – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Tennis started and ended its match against Cameron with a pair of wins, but couldn't pull off the overall victory Thursday at the Fort Smith Athletic Club, falling 5-2 to the Aggies.
UAFS picked up doubles wins by Bianca Koen and Milena Achlemov at number two (6-4) and Chloe Ruppanner and Camila Romero at number three (6-0) for the early 1-0 advantage.
However, the Aggies claimed five singles wins to knock off the Lady Lions. Joanna Potet battled at number two, but dropped her match in five sets, 6-3, 6-7 (8-10), 2-6.
Petra Csizmadia picked up the lone singles win for UAFS, winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) at number five.
Next week sees three home matches for the Lions, starting with a nonconference matchup with John Brown University March 24 at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
