SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Men's Tennis continued alternating wins and losses this season with a 6-1 win at John Brown Wednesday.
It was a competitive match for the Lions (3-2) and Golden Eagles (2-3), as all three doubles matches were tightly contested. UAFS earned a 6-3 win at number one by Wian Van Dyk and Zach Delmonico and a 7-5 win at number two by Andrew Anderson and Ethan Eddleman to earn the doubles point.
At number three doubles, Daniel Borerro and Nicolas Retamales were defeated 4-6.
Singles play featured a pair of three-set matches as well as three matches where the Lions won easily.
Retamales and Anderson won 6-2, 6-0 at number four and six, respectively, while Eddleman cruised with a 6-0, 6-1 win at number three.
At number two, Borrero bounced back for a 0-6 loss in set one to win sets two and three, 6-3 and 10-8. Van Dyk also went three sets at number one, splitting the first two sets, 6-2 and 1-6. Hudson Dick of JBU then won set three, 1-10.
Lone Star Conference play is next on the slate at Cameron University visits the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
