ADA, Okla. – East Central University shot 58.0 percent from the field as it defeated University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Women's Basketball Saturday, 89-40 in nonconference action.
UAFS shot 50.0 percent in the first quarter, as it kept pace with the Tigers for the first 10 minutes, trailing just 22-13. However, the Lady Lions were outscored 26-6 in the second quarter and were unable to make up ground after halftime.
Guard Ashanti Eden led the Lions with eight points with guard Riley Hayes scoring five. Forward Cacie Gorman pulled down a team-high four rebounds.
The Lions will look to get back in the win column Wednesday, November 24, when they host Henderson State University at 5:30 p.m. at Gayle Kaundart Arena at the Stubblefield Center.
