TYLER, Texas – University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Volleyball was swept at No. 19 UT Tyler Saturday, falling 15-25, 20-25, 17-25 in Lone Star Conference action.
UAFS went toe-to-toe with the Patriots in the first set until UT Tyler used a 7-0 run to break a 14-14 tie.
Set two went back-and-forth as well, before the Patriots broke it open late with a 5-0 to extend an 18-17 lead to 23-17.
UT Tyler outhit UAFS .308 to .132 for the match.
Right-side hitter Courtney Crownover led UAFS with seven kills, while outside hitter Savannah Wharton added six kills. Setter Chloe Price had 25 assists.
Libero Lexy Lewis was the lone Lion with double figure digs with 10.
UAFS is back in action Tuesday at Oklahoma Baptist.
