UAFS women's basketball team has recorded its fourth win in a row as the Lady Lions defeated UT Permian Basin in the concluding game of the weekend by the score of 73-63. Freshman guard from Muldrow, Okla.
Hannah Boyett led the Lady Lions with 28 points two assists and three steals while shooting 8-15 from the three point line.
Mar'Shalia Lollie added another double-double to her season stats with 14 points and 11 rebounds while also adding two assists and steals respectivelly.
The Lady Lions are now 12-10 on the season and 9-7 in conference play as they head back to the friendly environment of Stubblefield Center.
Offensively, the Lady Lions scored 73 points while shooting 40.6 percent from the field, 32.0 percent from the three point line and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. The leading scorers for UAFS were Boyett (28) and Lollie (14) while
Alexsis Brown and
Tamera Gulley added 6 points each. The Lady Lions distributed 18 assists led by
Paige Elston (4) and
Dachelle Terry (3). UAFS also dominated with 26 points in the paint and 16 points in the fast breaks while the bench contributed 15 points.
On the defensive end, UAFS allowed their opponent 63 points on only 34.3 percent shooting from the field, 30 percent from the three point line and 68.8 percent from the charity stripe. The Lady Lions grabbed 40 total rebounds, 24 defensive and 16 offensive, led by Lollie (11) and Gulley (6). UAFS forced 24 turnovers and scored 26 points off those. As a team the Lady Lions recorded 15 steals, led by
Ashanti Eden with four.
