Lady Lions Opening The Season On A Tough Roadtrip

UAFS women's tennis team is opening its season on the road as the Lady Lions get to travel to Memphis, Tenn. to face off against three opponents. On Friday, the Lady Lions will first play against Rhodes College with start at 1:30 p.m. and will continue the day against Spring Hill College on the same day at 5 p.m. The Lady Lions will conclude the weekend against Christian Brothers starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

"The men's and women's tennis teams have been practicing hard all year," said head coach Ben Anderson. "We are ready to compete.  This Friday and Saturday will give us a good indication of where our players are in their development.  Everyone is ready to play.  GO LIONS!"

The Lady Lions have concluded the 2018-2019 season with an overall 7-9 record on the season and 0-4 in conference play. Coach Anderson is returning four players - Shaun Williams, Chloe Ruppaner, Joanna Potet, and Bianca Koen. Coach Anderson is adding two new faces to the team this year - freshman Petra Csizmadia and junior Milena Achlamov

The Lady Lions will be looking to start the year off with wins on a tough roadtrip. UAFS will have a quick turnaround as they get to host John Brown at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb 12 at Fort Smith Athletic Club.
