KINGSVILLE, Texas – Another early deficit was too much too overcome for University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Men's Basketball, as the Lions fell 89-58 to Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road.
After shooting 55 percent in the season opener, the Lions (0-2, 0-2 LSC) shot just 34.5 percent Saturday.
Senior forward Chris Rollins posted his first double-double of the year, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Senior guard Matthew Wilson once again led the team in scoring with 19 points.
Freshman guard Drew Miller added 10 points for the Lions, shooting 4-for-5 from the field, including knocking down a pair of three pointers.
The Javelinas (2-0, 2-0 LSC) held significant advantages on the glass (42-27) and bench points (49-8).
UAFS will have its home opener next weekend when preseason No. 3 West Texas A&M visits the Stubblefield Center for a pair of games.
