After losing to #7 team in the nation, St. Edward's, UAFS men's basketball team has lost a second game in a row against top ten ranked teams as the Lions were defeated by Dallas Baptist in a 40 minute thriller by the score of 67-66. The Lions were led by Wilson with 24 points on 9-16 shooting from the field in a loss that tied the all-time series between the two teams to 11-11.
Offensively, the Lions scored 66 points while shooting sizzling 56.3 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from the three point line and only 42.9 percent from the free throw line. UAFS was led in scoring by Wilson (24) and Halums (18) while
Chris Rollins added 13 points. As a team, the Lions recorded 11 assists, led by
Charles Botchway with 6.
Defensively, the Lions allowed 67 points, while their opponents were shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 19 percent from the three point line and 63.6 percent from the free throw line. As a team UAFS grabbed 30 rebounds, led by Halums (9) and Rollins (7). The Lions also forced 14 turnovers from their opponents while recording four steals, led by
Evan Anderson (2).
