Head coach
Jim Boone was pleased with the defensive performance today, "Really pleased with our defensive effort today, I thought we did an outstanding job of guarding dribble penetration, they are a very quick and athletic team. As well, Botchway's ability to run our offense down the stretch to get what we wanted was outstanding. We moved the ball well and it showed in our balance today with four starters in double figures."
On the offensive end the Lions scored 66 points, while four players scored in double figures - Halums (29),
Matthew Wilson (15),
Charles Botchway (12) and
Chris Rollins (10). UAFS shot 49 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from the three point line and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe. The Lions recorded nine assists, led by
Charles Botchway with four.
Defensively, the Lions held their opponents to 62 points on 37.3 percent shooting from the field, 34.4 percent from the three point line and 77.8 percent from the free throw line.
