UAFS women's basketball team has concluded the weekend with a loss as the Lady Lions fell to Tarleton State by the score of 54-69. The Lady Lions were led by
Hannah Boyett with 14 points and two rebounds. UAFS is now 0-3 in all-time series against the Texans, 7-8 overall on the season and 4-5 in Lone Star Conference play.
Offensively, the Lady Lions scored 54 points, led by Boyett (14) who also shot 5-13 from the field and 4-8 from the three point line. As a team, the Lady Lions shot 43.8 percent from the field, 50 percent from beyond the arc and 63.6 percent from the free throw line. UAFS passed the ball well with 10 assists, led by
Alexsis Brown with five.
On the defensive end, UAFS allowed their opponents 69 points on 55.6 percent shooting from the field, 25 percent from the three point line and 61.5 percent from the charity stripe. The Lady Lions grabbed 27 rebounds as a team and were led by
Tamera Gulley (5) while Brown and
Ashanti Eden added four rebounds each. UAFS also forced 14 turnovers from their opponents while also recording six steals, led by Eden and
Leiloni Culley with two each.
