LAWTON, Okla. – The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith Lady Lions swept Cameron University Tuesday in their first Lone Star Conference (LSC) road trip of the season. The Lady Lions defeated the Aggies in three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-17, and 25-11. UAFS (9-2, 3-0) remained atop the LSC with the win.
Offensively, the Lady Lions were led by
Anna Demmer (11),
Rachel Williams (11) and
Lexie Johnston (9) who combined for 31 kills and helped UAFS to a sizzling 0.337hitting percentage. Defensively the Lady Lions held the Aggies to just a 0.057 hitting percentage and out-blocked the Aggies 11-6.
The Lady Lions are now 3-1 all-time against Aggies.
In an odd turn of the schedule, the two teams will face each other again this week with the Lady Lions hosting the Aggies at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Stubblefield Center. UAFS will continue its home stand Saturday with a non-conference match Southern Nazarene University.
