UAFS began Heartland Conference play on Friday with a hard-fought 4-2 loss to the Dallas Baptist Patriots at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.
It was the second match in four days for UAFS (2-4, 0-1) and second of three matches in five days. The Lady Lions will host the Missouri Western Griffons at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Fort Smith Athletic Club.
The Lady Lions' only wins came at No. 1 singles, where Bianca Koen beat Claire Nguyen 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, and at No. 5 singles, where Samantha Wong beat Ira Voglemann 6-1, 6-2.
