UAFS women's basketball team has concluded its final conference road trip of the year with a loss to West Texas A&M by the score of 48-76.
Dachelle Terry led the UAFS team with 13 points and three rebounds, but that was not enough for Lady Lions to take down one of the top teams in the Lone Star Conference.
The Lady Lions are now 4-7 overall on the season and 1-4 in the conference play.
Offensively, the Lady Lions shot 38.8 percent from the field, 45.5 percent from the three point line, and 35.7 percent from the charity line. UAFS was led in scoring by Terry (13) while
Hannah Boyett and
Paige Elston added six points each. As a team, the Lady Lions recorded only six assists, and were led by
Alexsis Brown (2).
Defensively, the UAFS team allowed their opponents 57.4 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arc and 72 percent from the free throw line. As a team, the Lady Lions grabbed 21 rebounds, led by
Tamera Gulley (5) and
Mar'Shalia Lollie (4). UAFS also forced 13 turnovers, while recording five steals, led by Brown and Elston with two each.
UAFS women's basketball team continues conference competition after Christmas Break as the Lady Lions take on an old conference rival, St. Mary's at 5:30 p.m. on January 2 in San Antonio, Texas.
