UAFS women's basketball team has lost the third game of the six games-long road trip stretch as the Lady Lions fell to Eastern New Mexico in Greyhound arena by the score of 49-60. The Lady Lions were led by
Tamera Gulley with a double-double performance (10 points and 10 rebounds) while also adding five blocks and two steals. UAFS is now 5-5 overall on the season and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play.
Offensively, the Lady Lions shot 35.7 percent from the field, along with 18.8 percent from the three point line and have not missed from the foul line. UAFS was led in scoring by Gulley (10) and
Dachelle Terry (8) while
Alexsis Brown added seven points. UAFS passed the ball well with 10 assists and were led by
Paige Elston with three assists.
Defensively, the Lady Lions allowed their opponent a 41.1 percent shooting from the field, 25 percent form beyond the arc, and 54.5 percent from the charity line. UAFS forced 17 turnovers while also recording eight steals as a team, and were led by Gulley (2) and Elston (2). The Lady Lions also grabbed 37 rebounds, led by Gulley (10) and Brown (4).
