UAFS women's basketball team has recorded its first conference road loss as the Lady Lions fell to the Eagles of Oklahoma Christian by the score of 63-74.
Mar'Shalia Lollie led the Lady Lions with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabing 13 rebounds. The Lady Lions are now 4-5 ahead of another conference road trip matchup against Eastern New Mexico.
Offensively, UAFS shot 33.3 percent from the field, while also shooting only 16.7 percent from beyond the arc and 65.5 percent from the free throw line. The Lady Lions were led in scoring by
Mar'Shalia Lollie (11) and
Tamera Gulley (8) while
Alexsis Brown added seven points. As a team, UAFS passed the ball well with 13 assists and were led by Brown (5) and Lollie, Gulley, and
Paige Elston with two assists each.
Defensively, the Lady Lions allowed their opponents a 39.0 shooting percentage with 37.5 percent shooting from the three point line and 76 percent from the free throw line. UAFS as a team forced 26 turnovers and recorded 18 steals where they were led by Lollie (6) and Elston (3). The Lady Lions also recorded 44 rebounds, and were led by Lollie (13) and Gulley (9).
