UAFS Volleyball team has swept another weekend of conference play as the Lady Lions defeated UT Permian Basin on the Senior Day by the scores of 15-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-17. The Lady Lions started out slow, losing the first set by 15-25 but coach Sargent made some changes that powered UAFS to dominate the following three sets, allowing Falcons to score a total of 50 points during that stretch.
Offensively the Lady Lions hit a .233 hitting percentage with 50 kills on 146 attempts and 16 errors.
Anna Demmer and
Lexie Johnston led the team in kills (10) while
Amanda Van Wyk led the team in assists (37). Noria Ceballos Plaza recorded a .636 hitting percentage with seven kills on 11 attempts and no errors.
Defensively, the Lady Lions held UT Permian Basin to a .131 hitting percentage with 44 kills on 153 attempts and 24 errors. Demmer led UAFS in digs (19) while Van Wyk added 13.
Lexie Johnston led the Lady Lions in blocks (5).
UAFS Volleyball team is now preparing for their final conference road trip as the Lady Lions travel to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on Midwestern State at 6 p.m. on Friday.
