UAFS Women's volleyball team has recorded another conference win on their final conference road trip as the Lady Lions defeated Midwestern State in four sets by the scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-16. This is only the second time that the two teams have met and the Lady Lions have won both matches, putting them at 2-0 in all-time series against Midwestern State.
Offensively, the Lady Lions were led by
Lexie Johnston who recorded 13 kills on 26 attempts and no errors putting her hitting percentage at .500.
Rachel Williams recorded 12 while
Anna Demmer added another 10 kills.
Amanda Van Wyk had 40 assists tonight leading UAFS to 52 overall kills on 139 attempts and only 19 errors which puts them at a .237 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Lady Lions held Midwestern State to a paltry .035 hitting percentage with 38 kills on 142 attempts and 33 errors.
Addie Vidrine led the Lady Lions with 13 digs followed by Demmer (12) and Van Wyk (8). Van Wyk also added five blocks followed by Johnston with four.
UAFS volleyball team continues their conference road trip as the Lady Lions take on Texas Woman's at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Denton, Texas. The Lady Lions will be looking to sweep the final conference rod trip ahead of the Lone Star Conference Championships which begin on Tuesday.
