UAFS Women's basketball team continues winning trend during the Thanksgiving weekend as the Lady Lions defeated East Central by the score of 60 - 55. The Lady Lions move on to 4-3 on the season.
Offensively, the Lady Lions were led by an outstanding effort from
Paige Elston with 21 points while shooting 8-14 from the field. She was followed in scoring by Mar'Shallia Lollie (8) and
Hannah Boyett (7). As a team the Lady Lions shot overall 20-49 from the field, 2-10 from beyond the arc and 18-21 from the free throw line. Lady Lions also recorded eight assists as a team.
Defensivelly, the Lady Lions were led by Lollie with two steals, while Lollie (13) and
Tamera Gulley (7) led the team in rebounds. As a team, the Lady Lions forced 10 turnovers from the Tigers and grabbed 43 total rebounds.
The Lady Lions have thus evened out the series against the Tigers.
UAFS women's basketball is now preparing as their season continues in Springfield, Mo. as the Lady Lions take on Drury at 11 a.m. on Friday Dec. 6.
