UAFS Women's Basketball team has bounced back in the second match of the conference homestand as the Lady Lions defeated Texas A&M Kingsville by the score of 57-48. The Lady Lions are now 1-1 in conference and 3-3 overall on the season.
Offensively, UAFS team was led by
Ashanti Eden with 15 points (5-12 from the field) followed by
Mar'Shalia Lollie with 14 , while
Tamera Gulley added 10 points.
Paige Elston led the team in assists (4) followed by Eden (2). As a team, the Lady Lions shot 19-56 from the field (33.9 percent), 4-18 from beyond the arc (22.2 percent) and 15-20 from the free throw line (75 percent).
Defensively, the Lady Lions held Texas A&M-Kingsville to a 40.4 percent from the field while recording 13 steals and 30 rebounds. UAFS team was led by Eden with four steals followed by Elston with 3. Gulley and Lollie both grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Lady Lions.
UAFS women's basketball is now preparing for their next home game as the Lady Lions take on East Central at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 30 at Stubblefield Center.
