UAFS women's basketball team has continued its losing streak as the Lady Lions started their conference homestand with a loss to Texas A&M International after two overtimes by the score of 75-72. The Lady Lions will have another opportunity this weekend to snap their losing streak. The Lady Lions are now 14-3 in all-time series against TAMIU.
Mar'Shalia Lollie led the Lady Lions on both ends of the floor, recording double double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. She also added four steals and drew 12 fouls. As a team, the Lady Lions shot 25-55 from the field with 5-19 from beyond the arc and only 17-29 from the free throw line. UAFS also recorded 15 assists.
Defensively, aside of Lollie's dominant performance, Paige ELston and
Ashanti Eden added three steals each while Elston also added 7 rebounds. As a team, the Lady Lions held the Dustdevils to a 40.7 percent shooting from the field, 8-25 on the threes and 19-34 from the free throw line. The Lady Lions forced 31 turnovers while also adding 13 steals as a team.
