UAFS Women's volleyball team has swept their final conference roadtrip ahead of the Lone Star Conference Championship as the Lady Lions defeated Texas Woman's in four sets by the scores of 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 27-25. The Lady Lions thus finish the regular season conference competition with an overall record of 24-5, and conference record of 17-1.
Offensively, the UAFS team was led by
Rachel Williams (16) and
Anna Demmer (10), while
Hannah Holland added nine kills.
Amanda Van Wyk recorded 37 assists with eight kills and 11 points overall. Senior setter led the Lady Lions' offense to a .228 hitting percentage with 60 kills on 171 attempts and 21 errors.
Defensively, the Lady Lions held their opponent to a .166 hitting percentage with 44 kills on 157 attempts and 18 errors. Demmer led the defensive effort with 17 digs while Van Wyk and
Lexy Lewis added 13 respectively.
UAFS volleyball team is now preparing to continue competition in the post season as the Lady Lions compete in the Lone Star Conference Championship. The conference rankings will be announced on Sunday which will determine the date, time, and opponents for the Lady Lions.
