UAFS Volleyball team has made a big step towards Conference Championship as the Lady Lions defeated St. Edward's Hilltoppers by the scores of 25-12, 21-25, 25-18, 25-22.
The Lady Lions were led by juniormiddle hitter,
Lexie Johnston with 21 kills on 32 attempts and only one error. Johnston led all teams with a monster .625 hitting percentage. Aside of Johnston, Rachel WIlliams recorded 13 kills and
Anna Demmer added another 8 to help the Lady Lions to an overall .304 hitting percentage with total 56 kills on 135 attempts and only 15 errors.
Amanda Van Wyk recorded 44 assists and added 5 kills.
On the defensive end, UAFS held St. Edward's to a .179 clip with 50 kills on 151 attempts and 23 errors while also recording 10 blocks. Demmer led the Lady Lions with 19 digs, followed by Van Wyk and
Lexy Lewis who recorded 17 respectively.
The Lady Lions are back on the road next week as they travel to Commerce, Texas to face off with Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday at 6 p.m.
