The UAFS Volleyball team has recorded another big time win in conference play as the Lady Lions swept Texas A&M-Kingsville in three sets by the scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-19. The Lady Lions improve their conference record to 7-1 and their overall record to 16-5.
Offensively, UAFS was led by
Anna Demmer with a .400 hitting percentage with 14 kills on 30 attempts and only 2 errors. Additionaly,
Lexie Johnston recorded 13 kills with .500 hitting percentage on 26 attempts and no errors.
Amanda Van Wyk led the Lady Lions in assists (35) while also adding 5 kills.
Defensively, the Lady Lions were led by
Lexy Lewis with 18 digs and Van Wyk with 15 digs. As a team, the Lady Lions allowed Yexas A&M-Kingsville .224 hitting percentage with 41 kills on 134 attempts and 11 errors.
The Lady Lions will return to the friendly atmosphere of Stubblefield Center for their conference stand against familiar opponents. UAFS will face St. Mary's on Friday at 6 p.m. and St. Edward's on Saturday at 1 p.m.
