The UAFS Volleyball team is back on the winning track. After beating Southern Arkansas by 3-0, the Lady Lions have swept Texas A&M International on the road by the scores of 25-20, 25-6, 25-20.
The Lady Lions (15-5, 7-1) were led ofensivelly by
Anna Demmer with 13 kills with .310 attacking percentage on 29 attempts and only four errors. Alongside Demmer,
Rachel Williams played another good offensive game adding another 13 kills with .323 attacking percentage on 31 attempts and only three errors. Senior setter
Amanda Van Wyk led all players with 36 assists while also adding 4.5 points.
Defensively the Lady Lions held the Dustdevils to a paltry .071 hitting percentage with 23 kills on 113 attempts and 15 errors.
Lexy Lewis (16), Demmer (11) and Van Wyk (13) led the Lady Lions in digs, combining for 40 out of the team-total 67. As a team, UAFS recorded 7 blocks.
The Lady Lions continue their conference roadtrip in Kingsville, Texas where they will match up against Texas A&M-Kingsville (16-7, 7-2) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
