It didn't take the UAFS volleyball team long to recover from its first Lone Star Conference loss of the season.
The Lady Lions defeated Southern Arkansas in a dominant fashion by the scores of 25-16, 25-8, 23-25, 25-7. The Lady Lions started out strong allowing only 24 points for the first two sets and got up by 2:0 in sets. UAFS then relaxed and dropped the third set by 25-23 but then came back and finishied the game off allowing only 7 points to the Muleriders in the fourth set.
Offensively the Lady Lions have performed fantastically with four different players combining for 43 kills.
Anna Demmer led the Lady Lions with 14 kills, while Coutrney Crownover and
Lexie Johnston added 10 kills respectively and Rachell Williams added 9 kills.
Amanda Van Wyk dominated the setting segment with 38 assists while also adding 10 digs. As a team, the Lady Lions recorded 48 kills on .330 hitting percentage with 112 attempts and only 11 errors.
Defensively, the Lady Lions held the Muleriders to a paltry .016 hitting percentage with 31 kills and 29 errors on 126 attempts. The Lady Lions were led by
Lexy Lewis with 14 digs while
Erin Black led blocking with 5.
