Oklahoma Christian boasts one of the most-prolific scorers in the Heartland Conference and NCAA Division II in senior guard Addy Clift, and she more than lived up to that billing on Wednesday night against the UAFS Lady Lions.
Still, her above-average scoring night wasn't enough to combat a season-best, balanced scoring performance by the Lady Lions, who edged the Eagles 98-85 in the Heartland Conference opener for both teams at the Stubblefield Center.
UAFS (4-10, 1-0) snapped a four-game losing streak with the impressive home win and will look to build off that momentum on Saturday when the Lady Lions play the Rogers State Hillcats at 1 p.m. at the Expo Center in Claremore, Okla.
It was the second time this season for the Lady Lions to surpass the 90-point plateau in scoring. UAFS, which was averaging 64 points per game coming into the conference opener, scored 94 points in its win against Southwest Baptist on Dec. 1 at the Stubblefield Center.
