UAFS didn't waste any time asserting its dominance against Southwest Baptist during Saturday's nonconference game.
One quarter to be exact.
UAFS scored 29 points and shot 71-percent from the field in the first 10-minute quarter, building a 14-point lead, and it was all Lady Lions the rest of way as they cruised to a 94-71 win at the Stubblefield Center.
It was the second-consecutive win for the Lady Lions (3-6), who on Wednesday night beat Northeastern State 75-62 to begin the four-game home stand.
It also was the Lady Lions' highest-scoring performance of the season – they were averaging 61 points per game –and it was the most points scored by the Lady Lions since beating the Oklahoma Christian Eagles 95-83 on Feb. 22 last season.
UAFS scored 20 or more points in every quarter and finished the game shooting 57 percent from the field (37 of 65) – its seventh-best shooting performance from the field during the NCAA Division II era. The Lady Lions' 37 field goals made is tied for seventh-most in a game during the NCAA Division II era.
The Lady Lions shot 33-percent from 3-point range (5 of 15) and just 56 percent from the free-throw line (15 of 27).

Alexsis Brown dished out 10 assists, tying the mark for third-most in a game during the NCAA Division II era, and the Lady Lions had 23 assists as a team, tying the mark for 10
th-most in a game. Brown also had a team-high five steals.
All but two players had at least one rebound, helping UAFS out-rebound Southwest Baptist by 10 rebounds (41-31). The Lady Lions had 10 offensive rebounds that led to 15 second-chance points.
UAFS held Southwest Baptist (2-5) to 42-percent shooting from the field (27 of 64), including a paltry 20 percent from 3-point range (4 of 20). Southwest Baptist shot just 65 percent from the free-throw line (13 of 20).
The Lady Lions forced 17 Bearcat turnovers that led to 21 points.
Three Bearcats scored in double-figures – junior forward Zahria White (16 points), senior guard Morgan Henderson (15 points) and sophomore forward Sydney Bandy (10 points). White had a team-high six rebounds.
