UAFS freshman setter Taylor Stoops has been named Heartland Conference Setter of the Week for her performance this past weekend in the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational in San Angelo, Texas.

Stoops, who is from Waxahachie, Texas, averaged 9.75 assists and 2.42 digs per set in her Lady Lions debut. She had a weekend-high of 41 assists in the Lady Lions' sweep of New Mexico Highlands.

UAFS (3-1) began the invitational with three-consecutive sweeps of East Central, Texas A&M-Kingsville and New Mexico Highlands before losing to host Angelo State in three sets in the invitational finale.
