Brian O’Connor begins his tenth season as director of sports medicine/head athletics trainer after serving as assistant athletics trainer for one season.

O’Connor, who is from Altoona, Iowa, is a 2009 graduate of Iowa State University, where he earned a bachelor’s of science degree in health and human performance. While at Iowa State, he served as a student trainer for football, wrestling, men’s and women’s track and field and women’s soccer.

As a student at Iowa State, he also served as an intern with the training staff of the Miami Dolphins in 2008 during training camp and preseason games.

O’Connor earned a master’s of arts degree in educational leadership from the University of Nevada-Reno in 2011. While working on his master’s degree, he worked as trainer for the Wolfpack football team.
