Jostun Pomplun joined UAFS as its Sports Information Director in October 2020.
Pomplun comes to UAFS after two-plus years at NCAA III McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, where he served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications & Operations.
In his role, Pomplun will be responsible for the coverage and publicity of all 10 Lion varsity athletic programs, as well as gameday management, live streaming and statistical coverage of Lion sporting events.
At McMurry, Pomplun served as the primary contact for Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s and Women’s Tennis and Men’s and Women’s Swimming. He also assisted with coverage of baseball, football and track & field.
While there, he helped nominate two CoSIDA Academic All-District honorees and also led a transition to BlueFrame Technology and Production Truck for live streaming purposes.
Prior to McMurry, Pomplun was an Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant at the University of Southern Indiana. He assisted with coverage of all 17 sports, including the 2018 NCAA II national championship winning softball team.
Pomplun graduated from USI with a master’s degree in Sport Management. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he was a four-year sports information student-assistant and also a member of the student television station, SPTV, serving one year as the Sports Producer.
