The UAFS Sports Medicine Department is located in the Stubblefield Center, which is located on the southeast corner of the university’s campus. The athletic training room and office are located in Rooms 119 and 120, respectively, on the lower level of the building.
Operated by two full-time certified athletic trainers, the Douglas W. Parker Jr., MD Athletic Training Room is the medical treatment center for all 10 UAFS sports, as well as the cheer and dance teams. The sports medicine staff provides daily coverage for all of the UAFS student-athletes including injury prevention protocols, evaluation and diagnosis of injuries, treatment, rehabilitation and conditioning regiments and game and practice coverage.
Inside the athletic training room is the following equipment: treatment tables, high-top taping tables, reclining recovery station, stim/US machines, hydrocollator, game ready units, NormaTec units, Marc Pro, cold/hot tubs, rehab equipment, emergency equipment, etc. The sports medicine staff also has access to numerous cardio machines and the UAFS weight room.
