FORT SMITH, Ark. - University of Arkansas - Fort Smith Volleyball was unable to keep pace with No. 25 Central Missouri Friday night, dropping their MIAA and home opener 20-25, 12-25, 14-25 at the Stubblefield Center.
The Jennies hit .307 for the match while the Lions were held to .096.
The Lions battled back from down 21-16 to close within 22-20 in the opening set, but the Jennies closed the set with the final three points to take the early lead.
UAFS was held to a negative attack percentage in set two as UCM hit .344 in the set. In set three, UCM had a pair of 4-0 runs to lead 13-5 and close out the match.
Codi Jackson had a team-high eight kills for the Lions while Mayli Whetter had 19 assists. Abbey Jackson had a team-high 13 digs with Aspen Olson collecting six blocks. The Lions outblocked the Jennies, 7-0.
UAFS is back in action Saturday at 1 p.m. against Missouri Southern at the Stubblefield Center.
