DURANT, Okla. – The Lion tennis teams traveled to Southeastern Oklahoma State Tuesday, where the Lion women were defeated, 4-0, while the men suffered a 5-2 MIAA setback.
In the women's match, Arianna De Bernardo won set one at No. 1 singles, 7-6, before dropping set two, 6-1. The third set went unfinished after the match had been decided. Rayssa Domingues also went three sets, dropping a 0-6, 7-6, 2-6 decision at No. 2.
Eduardo Bribiesca picked up a pair of wins in the men's match, teaming with Birk Arwedahl for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles but the Savage Storm took the doubles point.
Bribiesca then claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 singles. Arwedahl went three sets at No. 2, but came up short, 5-7, 6-4, 2-6.
Kivanc Bedir earned the second point for the Lions, winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5.
The women are back in action Thursday at 12 p.m. at Missouri Western while the men are at Ouachita Baptist at 11 a.m. Saturday.
